1 John 1: 8-10 "If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us." ESV
We fool ourselves when we look at others and see their sin but don't see our own. Satan wants to drive a wedge between us by deceiving us into doing just that. We look at others to justify our own sin. But God says if we confess that we are forgiven. Guess what, that's for everyone. It's how we come to know Jesus and how we walk with Jesus. By being honest and confessing that we are simply sinners saved by grace and welcoming everyone to do the same.
