1 John 1: 5-6 "This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth." ESV
Hear what's said in this not what's thought by some. If you know Jesus as your savior you are saved and you can not loose it. But if we are walking in darkness (sin) we are not in the full relationship and thus fellowship with the Lord. The Holy Spirit hasn't left you He just can't bless you as much as He would like. That closeness is not there though He is there waiting on you to call out. We are fooling ourselves if we think God is good with sin. He is not, sin is what caused Jesus to have to suffer and die then rise on the third day.
